How To Fix iTunes Error 6

If your iPhone, iPad or iPod can’t be restore in iTunes, you may be witnessing the following message with the iTunes error 6:

The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6).

To fix the error, try these steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the computer via USB cord.
  2. Open the iTunes, update the device to the latest version of iOS.
  3. Unplug the USB cord, quit all the running programs, and restart the computer.
  4. Open the iTunes again, and plug the USB cable into a rear port on Mar or Windows.
  5. Open the device up and reinstall the programs that you want, the error will disappear.
