How To Fix Windows Update Error 80244019

While downloading and installing updates, you may encounter the Windows Update error 80244019 like the following message:

Windows could not search for new updates
An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer.
Error(s) found
Code 80244019 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.

This error appears on your computer indicates that Automatic Updates are infected with some Virus, another service is needed by Windows Update, or Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) isn't currently running. If you want to fix the issue, try the following ways:

  1. Use an antivirus program to scan your Windows for possible Virus infections.
  2. Ensure that the necessary services are configured properly and running on your computer.
    1. Click "Start" menu, in the Start Search box, type "services.msc" and then click " services" program.
    2. On the right Services(Local) list, double-click "Background Intelligent Transfer".
    3. On the "General" tab, select "Manual" in the "Startup type"box and then click "Apply".
    4. On the "Log On" tab, ensure that the service is enabled in every hardware profile that is listed.
    5. Back on the "General" tab, click "Start" as "Service status" and then click "OK".
    6. Back on the right Services(Local) list, double-click "Windows Event Log".
    7. On the "General" tab, select "Automatic" in the "Startup type"box, if the "Startup status" appears "Stopped", cleck "Start" and then click "OK".
    8. Back on the right Services(Local) list, double-click "Windows Update".
    9. On the "General" tab, select "Automatic" in the "Startup type"box, if the "Startup status" appears "Stopped", cleck "Start" and then click "OK".
    10. Back on the right Services(Local) list, double-click "Software Licensing".
    11. On the "General" tab, select "Automatic" in the "Startup type"box, if the "Startup status" appears "Stopped", cleck "Start" and then click "OK".
    12. Back on the right Services(Local) list at last, close the "Services" window and try to install Windows updates again.
